Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you are aware, the school system is bringing back groups of students for in-person learning. We continue to collaborate with the Health Department to do this safely and to mitigate risk to the greatest extent possible. To that end, the Garrett County Health Department, in partnership with Garrett County Emergency Management, is offering no-cost COVID-19 PCR community testing at three different locations. Community members 18 years and younger can access testing at these sites whether they have symptoms or not.
Testing is available at the Garrett County Health Department on Memorial Drive in Oakland on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In order to obtain a test, an appointment must be scheduled by calling 301-334-7770. On Mondays, drive through testing will be available from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Northern Garrett Rescue Squad, Station 3, located at 320 Chestnut Street in Friendsville. On Wednesdays, drive through testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Northern Garrett Rescue Squad, Station 1, located at 124 Miller Street in Grantsville. The Grantsville and Friendsville drive through testing sites require no appointment.
The parent, guardian, or of-age individual will be contacted with results in a timely manner.
Sincerely,

Barbara Baker
